'Singing Bones' stone lithograph print (A3)

from Me Lost Me

Poster/Print

This print was inspired by the story 'The Singing Bone', collected by The Grimm Brothers.

My first (and only, so far!) attempt at the incredible process of stone lithography, there are only 4 of these available on cream and grey thick print paper (A3).
This process involves applying oily things to a prepared slab of limestone - using a crayon, paint brush, or even using the natural oils on your fingers to create an image and textures on the slab. This drawing, through chemical reactions, is then affixed to the stone and the original drawing is wiped away. Oil-based ink is then applied which sticks to where the oil had been, and is then printed onto paper.
